A Quick And Easy DIY Facial Treatment
— June 26, 2012Summer is here which means we ladies have zero time for dull, dry skin. Luckily, Mother Nature herself, that sassy vixen, has given us a natural solution that we can not only eat, but we can also turn into a hydrating facial mask. All in the comforts of our own homes.
So get ready to get your DIY on because I’m breaking down a quick and simple face mask that is not only cheap to make but will also give you hydrated, soft, glowing skin. Just in time for beach weather!
A Moisturizing Face Mask So Tasty You May Just Eat It
Ohhhhh girl this mask just might be one of my most favourite DIY beauty treatments to make, and it’s not just because I usually end up taste testing it before applying it…okay it’s partly because of that. But I also love this mask because of how it makes my skin feel after washing it off.
So if you suffer from dry, dull skin than this mask is just screaming your name.
The process is simple. All you have to do is mash up half of an avocado with half of a banana and stir in a teaspoon of honey.
This is usually the part where I taste test my mask, you know, just for quality control.
After the taste testing…errr…quality control is done, evenly spread the mask over your face and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing your face off with warm water.
The B vitamins found in your banana help to produce proteins that form skin, as well as help to keep the oil producing glands on your skin healthy which will keep your skin moisturized.
Add to that the healthy fats and vitamin E found in avocado which infuse even more moisture into your skin, and combine that with the anti-inflammatory and humectant properties found in honey and you have yourself a natural DIY face mask that helps to transform dry, dull skin into soft, supple, hydrated skin that emits a youthful, radiant glow.
In addition to that, if you continue to use this mask a few times a month, you will help to guard your skin against the harsh conditions once the drier, colder months hit so you can always put forth your best looking face.
Et voila! An easy DIY facial mask that is not only affordable but will give you spa quality skin while saving you hundreds on expensive spa treatments. And it also makes for a healthy, tasty treat. You know, just in case you work up an appetite with all that beautifying you will be doing.
